The 27 BG SW series has been engineered for uncompromising saltwater fishing, where maximum winding power, durability and drag performance are essential. At the heart of the reel is DAIWA's latest Powerdrive Design, previously only used for the latest Saltiga and Certate SW flagship series. The Powerdrive Rotor delivers exceptional rigidity while improving rotational inertia, reel balance and overall sensitivity, allowing anglers to fish comfortably without fatigue. The oversized Power Digigear is almost as large as that one found in DAIWA's MQ construction, providing outstanding power transmission, superior durability and tremendous winding power even under extreme loads. It's easy to service and supports long term operation. An additional body gasket sealing helps to minimise the intrusion of saltwater and dirt, ensuring greater reliability and longer life time in demanding offshore environments. The Crank Power Bail guides the line smoothly and efficiently to the line roller. Optimised geometry and improved mechanisms prevent accidental bail closure while enhancing line management, particularly during jigging and under heavy loads. The ABS Long Cast aluminium spool features an integrated rubber ring that prevents slick braided line from slipping under load. The ATD Tough Drag with carbon washers delivers consistently high drag performance, immediate line release and significantly increased maximum drag power compared to the previous model.

Size 6000-PH is delivered with a S-size round handle knob. Size 6000-H features a S-size Egg-Shape handle knob. Sizes 8000-P to 20000 feature a L-size Egg-Shape handle knob.
